009 Lexus ES

The 2009 Lexus ES (also known as the ES 350) is a well-designed luxury sedan. With seating for five passengers and a powerfully equipped drivetrain, the Lexus ES is one of the most highly appointed models in its class. The high MSRP could certainly deter a large number of buyers, but the ES is worth every penny. Just one trim level is enough for this model, as it is loaded with advanced technology and bonus features that surpass the competition. Rated as an Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle, the ES is sure to impress the eco-conscious buyers as well.

Under the hood, the Lexus ES 350 is equipped with a 272 horsepower 3.5L V6 engine that can reach 0-60 mph in less than seven seconds. A six-speed automatic transmission allows drivers to cruise at higher speeds in a lower rpm which can save on fuel consumption. Also, the dual exhaust system allows the engine to perform at its peak, while Dual Variable Valve Timing controls both the intake and exhaust valves for higher performance and fuel efficiency. With these additions, the ES is able to get around 19 city MPG and 27 highway MPG. Though the fuel economy is impressive, compared to the Cadillac STS, it simply cannot compete with flex-fuel and hybrid models on the market. Four-wheel independent suspension gives the ES both a smoother ride and improved handling.

2009 Jaguar XJ-Series

The 2009 Jaguar XJ-Series is a ful-size luxury sedan or sports sedan. This model is a carryover from the 2008 model year. Generous power, high-end features, and the classic Jaguar style are all included in the XJ-Series. The traditional Jaguar sensibilities are in place like impeccable design and a great number of trim levels, so every buyer can find the exact XJ-Series model that fits his or her taste. However, with a base price of $65,700, the buyer pool is significantly lessened.

Inside, the 2009 Jaguar XJ includes Burl walnut accents, a wood and leather trimmed steering wheel, premium sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an optional multimedia entertainment system. This entertainment system features two 6.5-inch LCD screens built into the headrests and a DVD player. Bluetooth technology is included in every XJ trim level which allows drivers to make hands free calls while driving. A DVD-based navigation unit is available in the higher trim levels, and reverse park control is standard on all trims. This feature provides drivers with sound alerts when parallel parking, warning them when the 2009 XJ is too close to another vehicle. Power seats, mirrors, moonroof, and windows are all standard as well.

2009 Infiniti FX50

The 2009 Infiniti FX50, aka the Bionic Cheetah, is a luxury midsize crossover which has been refreshed and now offers proud owners more performance and style than ever before. It is all-new for 2009 and it offers new choices for engines, transmissions and loads of optional features. The FX50 is so named as to refer to the 5.0L V8 engine. It has been upgraded and serves as a replacement for the FX45.

The FX50 offers passenger room to rival crossovers like the Nissan Murano and has enough rear passenger legroom to compete with the Honda Civic. It can also tow a small watercraft or even a pair of motorcycles or snowmobiles. Sales volumes have never been high and the FX50 always is a great eye catcher. Cargo space is generous, easily accommodating even your large gear, luggage and equipment.

2009 Hummer H2 SUT

The pickup version of the controversial Hummer H2, the 2009 Hummer H2 SUT, is certainly one of the most impressive vehicles on the road. Based on the Hummer H2 body style, descendant of the military replacement for the venerable Jeep, the SUT is one vehicle that can get it done.

However impressive it might be on the road, the SUT is at its best off road. Going up and down 60% slopes, across 40% slopes, through water 20 inches deep or over 16 inch vertical walls is all grist for the mill for this powerful machine. The SUT may be classed as a pickup, but the truth is, it just isn't like anything else.

Powered by a 6.2 liter V8 engine, the SUT generates 393 horsepower and can tow over 8,000 pounds. There is only one transmission available, a six-speed automatic with overdrive, tow/haul mode and tap up/down shifting.

2009 Ford F-150 Styleside 4WD

The 2009 Ford F-150 Styleside 4WD full-sized pickup truck is one of the toughest trucks on the planet. With standard trailer sway control for 2009, it's making waves throughout the industry as the truck to beat. It handles smoothly and the spacious cab is both comfortable and utility-based. It serves you well with luxurious features and also accommodates your needs for work-based efficiency. MSRPs are ranging from $21,095 up to $35,630 for fully-loaded trims with everything imaginable included.

The base model F-150 Styleside 4WD has a towing capacity of 5400 pounds and a payload of 1700. Fuel economy ratings have been measured at 14/19 mpg city/highway - right around the class average. It remains as one of the top-selling full-sized pickup trucks in the world - and there a lot of good reasons for that. You are not going to be able to just knock Ford off that list without some serious misjudgments on your part.

2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Dually 2WD

Chevy says that the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Dually 2WD is the most "car-like of the heavy duty pickups" and they may well be right. Driving at the worksite or in town is a pleasurable experience that can be enjoyed by both driver and passengers alike. There are many different trims, styles, colors, bed lengths and optional feature packages to choose from and all of them lead up to one of the most impressive full-sized pickup truck lineups on the planet today.

There are 3 cab styles: Regular, Extended and Crew. There are 3 trim levels as well: Work Truck, LT and LTZ. You can choose between a 6L 360hp Gen IV Vortec V8 engine or the Duramax 6.6L 365hp Turbo-Diesel V8. An electronic automatic 6-speed/overdrive transmission comes with either engine choice made. New features for the 2009 models include standard OnStar 8.0 with turn-by-turn instructions, Bluetooth hands-off calling for your cell phone and XM Satellite Radio with the new NavTraffic system. For the Extended and Crew cabs models, you can opt for a rearview camera to be installed which greatly assists you in backing up to those trailer hitches without even needing a guiding hand.

2009 Cadillac STS

The 2009 Cadillac STS is a luxury full-size sedan, comparable to the Mercedes CLS Class, that includes generous power, a wealth of options, and a number of safety features. This model is a carryover from the previous year. With five trim levels, buyers can customize the STS to fit their specific needs. This five-passenger vehicle comes equipped with OnStar as well, a safety program that includes immediate accident alerts, roadside assistance, and even turn-by-turn navigation provided by a live company representative.

The Cadillac STS's base model is fitted with a 302 horsepower 3.6L V6, while the Premium Luxury Performance trim includes an impressive 320 horsepower 4.6L V8. Standard on all trims is a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control. This feature allows drivers to have the convenience and ease of an automatic with the performance and control of a manual. Nevertheless, potential buyers might be disappointed that only one transmission is available on the STS. With an estimated 17 city MPG and 26 highway MPG, the Cadillac STS is in the middle of the pack. However, those that are looking for exceptional fuel economy in a luxury sedan might want to look elsewhere.
